Jonathan Lemon is stepping down as President after a wonderful two years. Also departing will be Mark Estes as Vice President.We are looking for two new volunteers to fill these positions.
The Call for Nominations is now open for the following Chapter Committee positions:Northern California Chapter President
As the administrative head of the chapter, the president is primarily responsible for getting things done and is the chair of the Chapter Board of Directors, Chapter Executive Committee and all meetings of the Chapter membership. The president is also signs chapter checks issued as payments to any vendors engaged by the chapter, or for any reimbursements to other chapter members.
The president is also primarily responsible for developing new ideas and methods for chapter growth and improvement. The president represents the image of the chapter at all functions and serves as liaison to the National organization.
Northern California Chapter Vice President
As successor to the president, the vice president should become familiar with the procedures and requirements of that office. As a member of the Executive Committee, the vice president performs assignments and duties as required by the president and the board, and should assist the president whenever possible or when asked. The vice president shall serve in the absence of the president.

General Information for Candidates
All successful candidates must be available to attend Board meetings once a month, and be involved in ongoing phone and e-mail dialogue to conduct chapter business and make decisions that need to be made between Board meetings. President and Vice President positions require approximately 15 hours of time per month (including the Board meetings). There is also a chapter administrator, Fuzz (Louise) Grant, to help with the administrative functions of running the chapter.
Plenty of training will be provided for any position. If you are interested in Guild issues, responsible, and detail-oriented, we want YOU!
Terms for these positions begin now, and end on June 30th, 2013.
The Graphic Artists Guild, Inc. Constitution and By-Laws provides any eligible member in good standing with the right to run for Chapter Board positions. Please note that associate and student members may not vote or hold office, but they may nominate and petition the candidacy of others.
